Violet, who certainly isn’t a shrinking one, makes it so. Recently divorced, she barges into the world of cyber dating, Scrabble sex (you heard it here first), a midlife Brazilian wax discovery, crossing the colour barrier, struggles with clothes, and smouldering real time sex with virtual strangers. Violet lives and learns, dispenses advice and confesses all in a delightfully unselfconscious way.

Cape Town actress Lynita Crofford comes back to The Alexander stage as Violet. Violet is modern, sexy, funny and confident. And, quite simply, she is looking for love. Or sex. Or love and sex. And she does it all in her own tongue in his cheek way.

Violet Online is based on blog posts by a well known, anonymous, over 40, mother, ex wife, grammar fiend. Megan Furniss directs. After a sold-out run at Alexander Upstairs last year, and another at The Kalk Bay Theatre, Violet Online comes back to Alexander Upstairs with a quick run before heading off to the National Arts Festival.

If you have managed to miss her, now is the time to catch her, or for those of you who fell in love with her, you get to see her again.
