North West FM, the only commercial station in the North West Province, has just launched a new frequency 103.9 FM following the installation of a one kilowatt aerial in Garankuwa. The development is the continuation of the station’s drive to reach out, be more accessible and provide a crystal-clear signal and high quality broadcast to audiences within its broadcast area. Listeners in Brits, Pretoria, Soshanguve and Mabopane are among those that will have access to the 103,9FM frequency.

“We have been on a determined and focused drive to change certain perception about what type of a radio station we are. North West FM is an inspirational commercial station and our coverage reaches out to the entire North West while bleeding to communities in the provinces bordering North West. The launch of the 103.9 FM frequency, and others in the last couple of months, are significant in that they give more listeners an opportunity to sample the fantastic and professional programming with top on-air talent that we have to offer,” says station manager David Mabusela.

Among other platforms, North West FM can also be listened to via the internet on its website.

“There’s several other platform we are trying to get into so that we give more options to our listeners but we are still facing some resistance. As an inspirational station, it is not in our nature to give up, so we will continue knocking at the necessary doors until our knocks are answered positively,” added Mabusela.

North West FM has recently added top radio personalities in its roster including personalities such as Sir Max, Aldrin Mogotsi, Douglas Mosadi and Modisane Modise.
