SABC together with African Musicians Against HIV/Aids (Amaha) and Kwaito Nation are inviting music lovers across the country to celebrate the festive season with a national tour titled “Ekasi S’vukile”, a Social Responsibility and HIV/AIDS Awareness National Tour aimed at raising funds for charity.

The tour kicks off on 1 December at Mokopane (Limpopo), 8 December SY Mthimunye (Mpumalanga), 26 December Florida Lake and 29 December King Smith Durban. The festivals will start at 10:00 until late.

SABC Spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago says, "We are indeed very proud to once again be part of this great initiative with AMAHA. We welcome the opportunity to support an activity that helps us to deliver on our mandate and to provide entertainment and education to our citizens, the people of South Africa. Projects like this are in line with one of the goals of the SABC, building a common future for all citizens of our country".

AMAHA is an organisation of top Jazz, gospel, traditional, hip hop and Kwaito musicians that will include artists such as Stimela, Deborah Fraser, Kabelo and Bongo Maffin to name a few.

Last year both SABC and AMAHA managed to raise R280 000, 00 and gave 10 000 “baskets of love” to sustain poor families for four months, and orphans in various regions around the country.

Doc Shebeleza of AMAHA says, “We urge other musicians to show commitment in improving the lives of the poor and our senior citizens and work with SABC and other Social Development projects in the regions. Senior Citizens play a vital role in many families because they raise and feed on their pension money. Most of them are neglected by their kids.

“We are grateful for the contribution made by the SABC, Department of Arts & Culture, Health, Social Development, Mayors Office’s (in the regions) in making the SABC - AMAHA Kwaito Nation dream a reality. AMAHA/Kwaito Nation are proud of the fact that this event is part of the celebration of the SABC’s, Vuka Sizwe” said Shebeleza.

Tickets will be available from Computicket and Shoprite Checkers stores at R 60.00 and R 150.00 at the gate.
