Dozens of locals and holidaymakers enjoyed two days of fun in the sun at Margate Main Beach as the Engen Beach Festival with East Coast Radio kicked off over the weekend.
ECR’s Msizi James traded in the studio for baggies and a T-shirt as he hosted the festivities on Saturday, 19 December and Sunday, 20 December. With many activities and prizes, the festival offered up something for everyone.
Little ones enjoyed the sandcastle-building competitions, musical statues, and dancing and limbo contests; while one-touch rugby and Engen soccer kept the older kids and mums and dads busy.
Throw in ECR’s Bongani Mtolo’s live broadcast between 10:00 and 14:00, some cool music and a healthy dose of the chill factor, and you had a memory-making weekend.
The Engen Beach Festival moves to Durban’s uShaka Beach on Monday, 21 December and Tuesday, 22 December before wrapping up at Willard Beach, Ballito on Wednesday, 23 December and Thursday, 24 December.
