SABC launches exclusive Robert Sobukwe film

The SABC is proud to launch an exclusive film commemorating the life and times of Pan African Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe. The film is directed by Miki Dube, from Born Free Media. This extensive film will feature new and unseen social commentary of Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe, and viewers can expect insights from his family, friends, and colleagues. The film will be part of the ten Icon Feature Documentary and Film Series which will be premiered at Cinemas and world wide television
The ten films under the umbrella; Africa in its own image and History captured in the bold spirit with which it was lived, is shot entirely on high definition. The film will not only capture Sobukwe but an array of prominent icons who will unearth their personal stories in an unprecedented, intimate and open way. “The SABC is proud to be associated with this project as it will place our icons in their truthful context within world history”, said Beathur Mgoza Baker, Executive Producer ICONS Feature Documentary Series.
The launch which will remember and commemorate the legacy of Robert Sobukwe will take place on Monday, 10 March at the Forum V& A Waterfront Hotel in Cape Town.
