During the month of May, Saltwater GIRL magazine - in association with Rimmel London and M1 Management - embarks upon the third annual Model Search in search for unconventional beauty.

At 11 venues across Sout Africa, the Saltwater GIRL and M1 teams will be scouting for girls who live life with a touch of salt and are bold and unafraid to step up and be discovered. Leah Hagger, head booker from M1 Management says: “SWG readers embody the kind of girls we are looking for. They are the next-generation models!”

The Saltwater GIRL Model Search is free of charge and any girl between the ages of 14-21 may enter, provided that she is not already signed with a modelling agency.

Ten lucky girls who best reflect the spirit of Saltwater GIRL will be awarded modelling contracts from M1 Model Management as well as an invitation to attend the Saltwater GIRL Experience.

The SWG Experience is an annual event, which is a physical manifestation of the SWG brand; it takes place over six magical days in the first week of July.

This year sees international cosmetics brand Rimmel London join in the SWG Model Search, and according to Sally-Ann Walsh from Rimmel London, “Young South African girls have their futures ahead of them and by entering this competition they will have the opportunity to interact with their peers, show-off their individuality and gain confidence by doing something out of the ordinary. You just never know what doors this competition may open for you. The sky is the limit and if you don’t push yourself to put yourself out there, you’ll never know what you can achieve.”
