The 2016 ‘#GiveADoodle’ campaign resulted in 6 582 doodles being donated and put on sale for R100 at Night of 1000 Drawings. The event focused on the art, but three bands and two DJ's performed, and for the foodies, there were 12 food vendors on site offering everything from artisan pizza to seafood.

Other popular side shows were artist Stefan Smit painting live, Anthea Moys doing an interactive portrait exchange as well as a live tattoo artist. The 52 volunteers helping on the night wore 1000 Drawings t-shirts donated by Sharpie.

Thanks to the generosity of the people of Johannesburg, suppliers, and volunteers, the money raised will be going to Streetlight Schools. In 2015, the Streetlight Schools built new classrooms with the money that was raised from 1000 Drawings and the organisers look forward to seeing them progress even further in 2017.
