Amanda Maynard, MD of top event management company Kadoro Events and Communications, and Gavin Rogaly, well-known business personality; were married at Summer Place, Hyde Park on Sunday, 2 November. With a guest list comprising the who’s who of the eventing and business fraternity, everyone was treated to a fabulous celebration, food and entertainment.
Amanda seized the chance to bring her imaginative touch and activation talents to stage her very own event, where she took the starring role alongside her groom – a fairytale wedding of magical proportions. She relished her role as the radiant bride in a magnificent, imported designer dress, purchased from a local retailer and enhanced with Swarowski crystals and a large white haute couture bloom.
“The feel of the wedding was fresh, summery, relaxed and fun. It was a celebration of all the good things in life, the people and the things we love,” says Amanda. The theme for the occasion was to bring the outdoors inside and we created a gloriously romantic setting reminiscent of an olde-worlde tea party.”
While the ceremony took place in the garden, the reception was held in an elegant diningroom swathed in white, pink and green - complete with an extra large, white dancefloor and masses of flowers . The catering displays were fresh and novel - from cocktails and sushi, to the dessert buffet featuring a tower of cupcakes finished off with iced detail.
Guests were entertained by the Shul Choir lead by Rory Rootenberg, Jacques Lagesse - South Africa’s own Michael Buble - and Dr Victor & the Rasta Rebels. To the delight of all their guests, Amanda and Gavin performed their customised wedding dance in
Strictly Come Dancing style - a rendition of the original
Dirty Dancing classic.
