'Clover Mama Afrika' announces that the Shwe-Shwe dressmaking course was sponsored by long-term project partner MiX Telematics. "This time of the year is always a proud moment for me as I get to celebrate Clover Mama Afrika’s birthday with my special 'Clover Mama Afrika’s' at Clover head office," says founder of 'Clover Mama Afrika', professor Elain Vlok.
Vlok adds, "I am very grateful for MiX Telematics’ unconditional support that enables us to do so much more for our project. Thanks to them, we could have no less than seven sewing Clover Mamas join us, together with Leaza of Ennerdale on behalf of Mama Shirley (who does not sew herself) to attend the Shwe-Shwe dressmaking course."
"We even had Mama Mary of Winterveld that joined us at the Clover head office event. The 'Clover Mama Afrika’s' all looked gorgeous with their Shwe-Shwe dresses. We handed out kitchen towels that were made by Clover Mama Afrika sewers during the recent production line course," says Vlok.
"Fellow Cloverites received sewn kitchen towels as a small token of appreciation for their continued support of the project. In addition, we were able to treat these wonderful Mamas to a special cake and tea at head office. The beautiful birthday cake was sponsored by another long-term project partner C&R Brand Solutions. We could not be more blessed and grateful," Vlok adds.
The campaign works with female entrepreneurs across the nation and, to date, has appointed 43 Mamas nationwide. Each Mama is committed to becoming sustainable and manages their self-help projects appropriately and aims to ensure that the members in their care are the true beneficiaries.
