The Africa Communications Leadership Report 2018 is a bilingual (English/French) publication featuring the opinion of 50 professionals from different countries, institutions, sectors, and disciplines on the role of communications in the socio-economic development of the African continent.

Co-founder Annie Mutamba says, "There are too many communications professionals working in isolation, trying to challenge the current narratives about Africa. Africa Communications Week and this report seek to build bridges between forward-thinking communicators."

According to the report, Africa's reputation has an impact on its socio-economic development. The report highlights why it is critical for communicators to be strategic about shaping a narrative that is vital to the transformation of the continent.

"Africa focused communications professionals have a strategic role to play in taking ownership of the African narrative and shaping the conversations, stories, and policies of their organisations, governments, and culture," says Eniola Harrison, co-founder ACW.

According to Africa Communications Week, the biggest single step African countries could take towards reducing their reputation gap is including their skilled communications workforce in decision-making to advance their economic transformation and meet the demands of a global economy.
