In the last 17 years, the campaign has seen over 700 organisations secure their participation to aim and empower young girls. The initiative aims to motivate and empower girls to reach their career goals and inspires the next generation of women leaders in South Africa.

Regarded as one of South Africa’s largest collaborative acts of volunteerism, Cell C says its 'Take a Girl Child To Work Day®' campaign has become meaningful to girls across the country as it is a crucial time in their lives when they have to decide on a career journey.

This year’s theme, '#MoreThanADay', aims to promote the concept that one day is not enough to help motivate and support school-going girls. As such, Cell C has dedicated three days in the year to the programme – Thursday, 30 May, Friday, 26 July and Friday, 30 August.
