The SAVA-CVC was established in 1998 to support veterinarians who provide education and primary veterinary care to very low-income communities. The clinics work to increase responsible pet ownership to lessen the burden of preventable conditions (such as malnutrition, over-population and preventable diseases) on local shelters.

There are currently 30 mobile clinics nationwide, each run by a registered veterinarian to ensure professional service and low overheads.

The clinic says that with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the current economical challenges, welfare and non-profit organisations are struggling to meet their outreach objectives with regular donor funding drying up.

To ease the financial burden and support South Africa's heroic animal welfare community, Bravecto® donated more than R9-million worth of Bravecto® stock in the period from May to October.

SAVA-CVC director Claudia Cloete and manager Vhonani Manenzhe accepted the donation of 1 379 doses of Bravecto® Spot-On for Dogs.

"It is an honour to be part of this great initiative from Bravecto®. As a veterinary association, our responsibility is to support veterinarians that provide education and primary veterinary care for animals in low-income communities. The donation fwill assist us greatly in the fight against ticks and fleas," says Cloete.
