The trust was also named a finalist for
Community Relations in EMEA for the same campaign.
The awards are the world's largest and most sought after public relations awards competition. It recognises superior achievement in branding and reputation in North America, EMEA and the Asia-Pacific region.
"It was time to showcase the ground-breaking work we do, whether it be a radio teachers project for the rural schools with limited access to data and devices in a pandemic, or a beacon of light in how communities can come together and work with challenges in local government," says Mandisa Tselane, communications and marketing head of the Kagiso Trust.
"We have worked extremely hard at building a narrative around Kagiso Trust, positioning its role in society and shining a light on possibility, hope and a different way of doing things," adds Tselane.
"Even in a pandemic [and] in a year of such insurmountable loss, for an NGO to win
Innovator Brand of the Year and to be recognised at African and EMEA level is extremely validating," concludes Tselane.
