Adjacent to its Toyland experience, the centre will be unveiling a Disney-inspired Christmas tree that will give shoppers an opportunity to support the Smile Foundation, a non-profit organisation that works to improve the quality of life of children with facial conditions.

Being 10 metres high and adorned with 700 Disney plush toys, the tree will serve as an invitation to pledge R50 towards this organisation. After the end of the festive season, all of the toys will be donated to children that have undergone corrective facial reconstructive surgery and treatments.

Live acts by The Cirk acrobatic artists will take place daily at midday and 16:00 from Thursday, 9 December to Friday, 24 December and by Ballet dancers daily at 14:00 and 18:00 from Thursday, 16 December to Friday, 24 December.

The centre's two gift-wrapping stations will be dedicated to supporting the Sandton Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). These stations will enable shoppers to have their purchases wrapped in bespoke wrapping paper and to donate to the SPCA in lieu of this service.

"From our immersive Toyland installation to captivating live performances, exquisite décor, extended trading hours, wrapping services and more, there is no better place to enjoy the splendour of the festive season this year," says Preston Gaddy, general manager of Sandton City.

"We are thrilled that we can contribute to different organisations doing such incredible work over this time," concludes Gaddy.

To ensure the safety of shoppers, staff and tenants, all Covid-19 related protocols and safety precautions will be adhered to at all times.
