Okurrr! So Kris Jenner is the matriarch of one of the world's most famous families. They have over a billion Instagram followers and, if you think that this happened by some stroke of dumb luck, you are severely mistaken! This has all been made possible by the marvellous mind of the one and only …
Kris Jenner.
So, how does she do it?
Find out as media update's Saads Abrahams helps you keep up with the remarkable PR mind of Kris Jenner right here:

Keeping up with Kris Jenner
The Kar-Jenner Klan has
dominated the media industry for over a decade. And one does not rule the media space without being able to navigate the world of
marketing and
PR.
Kris Jenner has proven to be a true mastermind when it comes to PR.
Facts.
Public relations aims to spread important news and events to "maintain a brand image, and put a positive spin on negative events to minimise their fallout."
So, if you look at that statement (and knowing what we know about the Kar-Jenner Klan … even if it is against our own will), we know that the 'Momager' does not play when it comes to the image of her family as she has used every opportunity to build an empire with her PR skills.

Krack the PR Krisis Kode
Love them or hate them, Kris knows her
audience and that is
PR 101.
For example, when ratings dipped, she took advantage of Kourtney's pregnancy and baby daddy drama to get viewers pulled back in.
What PR pros can learn from this is that it is absolutely essential to know your audience and, if something isn't working, to try something that can re-capture their attention … like a really epic
publicity stunt.
And let's not forget to mention when Kim and Kanye got together, Kris 'Kreated' the ultimate media storm around them by teasing wedding exclusives that could only be seen on their show — pulling the viewers right back in again.
What can PRs learn from this?
Let's take Apple, for example. The brand releases a new phone every year or two, and people all around the world go crazy for it. Now imagine if they only released a limited amount of phones. PR pros, you can apply this 'limited' tag to your efforts to get your audience creating a buzz around you. Exclusive content is a sure way to ensure that people are attentive towards your clients' brands.

Another famous example was when Tristan cheated on Khloe. When the news came out, no statements were given. But a few months later, trailer teasers for the next season where Khloe addressed the drama and the family gave us all the tea we had been waiting for.
This tactic worked
so well for them because Kris realised that she can completely
control the narrative to work in their favour by always casting themselves in the best possible light while gaining organic traction to the show.
This is an imperative skill that all PR pros need to learn and master. You cannot control what happens — but how you respond to what happens is everything. You can either elevate your brand or destroy your reputation.
But the
best PR tactic to date that Kris has used is the narrative surrounding Kylie's lips. When the 16-year-old came out sporting larger, luscious lips, the media and public went into a complete frenzy — mostly because she stated that she was "just overlining" her lips to appear bigger.

Fast forward a couple of years, and Kylie releases her first ever
Kylie Lip Kit, which completely sells out in just 10 minutes. Her business has since grown, helping her obtain the status of
"the youngest-ever self-made billionaire."The lesson to be learned here is: If something surrounding your client is the talk of the town, find a way to spin it to
work for you and your client, instead of sweeping it under the rug.
Whether it is good publicity or bad — you can always make it work for you. And Kris Jenner is the absolute
Kween of capitalising on whatever scandal is currently surrounding the family.

Be Kool, Kalm and Kollected
The Kween of PR has perfected the skill of always looking "put together", which is an
essential skill that you need if you want to be a PR pro.
You never want your clients to see you sweat, so you need to look as if you have everything under control — even if you honestly don't.
As the founder and CEO of Jenner Communications, Kris attributes the success of the family to
passion, a
strong work ethic and the need to "
have a plan B. Always learn how to pivot."
This is a crucial skill that anyone in PR needs to have: to not put all your eggs in one basket because
anything can happen. Additionally, sometimes the original plan needs to change to make it work for you and your client, without you ever looking unprepared.
And if you still don't believe that this is all just some stroke of dumb luck, this is what Kris wrote in her 2011 memoir:
"
I started to look at our careers like pieces on a chessboard … Every day, I woke up and walked into my office and asked myself, 'What move do you need to make today?' It was very calculated. My business decisions and strategies were very intentional, definite and planned to the nth degree."
As the saying goes, the devil works hard, but Kris Jenner works harder.
