According to the organisation, 2024 marks over 19 years of receiving this kind and generous donation from Aranda.

Professor Elian Vlok, Clover's manager of the Clover Mama Afrika Trust, says that she was ready and thrilled to receive the donation and get all the boxes packed in order to deliver these to the various Mama Afrikas' centres.

According to Clover Mama Afrika, 150 blankets were donated this winter, which were subsequently distributed to 24 Mama Afrikas and their centres.

"We are always so grateful to be working with such wonderful suppliers who understand our vision and are ready and willing to stand by us and support us every step of the way," says Vlok.

"This annual donation from Aranda really makes such an incredible difference in the lives of so many individuals who receive these blankets. Recipients all live in rural areas, and the gift of warmth is one like no other; you truly feel the gratitude from every single person who receives one of these blankets," adds Vlok.

Clover Mama Afrika aims to support and upskill female community leaders nationwide. The project is aimed at teaching and guiding strong females in communities all over the country, to build their skills, sustain and improve their own community projects.

The organisation says that since its inception in 2001, the CSI initiative has appointed 60 Mama Afrikas and has since seen the project host 440 training sessions, with over 2 313 beneficiaries over the years.

According to Clover Mama Afrika, the women that form part of the project are lovingly referred to as Mama Africas due to their standing in their neighbourhoods.

The organisation concludes that most of them run their centres in rural areas. Only the most committed women are enrolled in this initiative, and these include women looking after orphans and the elderly.
