"For us, sustainability is more than a goal. It's a responsibility," says Leah McCrae, Managing Director, Rand Capital Coffee, Licensee Starbucks SA. "And it's one Starbucks takes very seriously, having committed to slashing waste by 50% by 2030."

The journey kicked off with the Circular cup in 2020, by upcycling single-use cups and recycled plastics and turning them into durable, everyday reusables, says Starbucks.

Circular Cups were just the beginning. In 2023, the next evolution arrived: The Reusable Coffee Ground Cup. Made from 70% recycled plastic and 20% used Starbucks coffee grounds. Yesterday's coffee grounds, reborn as today's cup. A smarter, more sustainable step that turns everyday into better choices for the planet, adds the company.

Every cup has a story, and this one is about more than coffee. The Reusable Coffee Grounds Cup transforms yesterday's grounds into today's ritual, proving that small choices can fuel a bigger change. The next time customers order their favourite drink, they choose the cup that carries their coffee and the planet forward, concludes Starbucks.
