Boitumelo Mphahlele and Richard Matamela have received the keys to their brand-new Suzuki Swifts at a handover ceremony held at Suzuki Gezina in Pretoria after being announced the grand prize winners of Premier's 'More Meals, More to Win' campaign.
The two-month campaign, which runs from 1 July to 31 August, offers South African families multiple opportunities to win while purchasing everyday essentials from Premier's participating family of brands, notably IWISA No 1, Snowflake, Nyala, Super Sun and Sunblest, says Suzuki.
Speaking at the handover event, Sibongile Mooko, Premier's Marketing Executive, notes that 'More Meals, More to Win' has reached unprecedented scale this year — growing to over 1 200 stores nationally, nearly triple the reach of the previous year's campaign. "We're grateful for the support of our retail partners including Spar, Pick 'n Pay and Shoprite, as well as our wholesale partners. They made it possible for us to deliver on our campaign promise of 'more meals, more to win'."
The campaign's tiered reward structure is built to recognise the reality of household budgets, offering multiple prize categories including daily cash prizes of R1000 for purchases of R150 or more; weekly R5 000 prizes for purchases of R250 or more; and two Suzuki Swift grand prizes for purchases of R350 or more, says Suzuki.
"'More Meals, More to Win' was inspired by our fundamental insights into how South African families shop," notes Mooko. "Families don't purchase individual brands: they buy ingredients for complete meals and for family moments around the dinner table. In today's economic climate, every rand matters. We wanted to give back to families who trust our brands to help create their most precious moments."
She emphasises the campaign's deeper purpose. "This campaign wasn't just about selling products; it was about supporting South African families during challenging times. The overwhelming response we received shows that when brands genuinely listen to community needs and respond with meaningful initiatives, extraordinary connections are made."
Boitumelo Mphahlele, a mother from Crystal Park, Benoni, bought Iwisa No 1 for the preschool that she runs. "I wanted to win this car from the beginning," she shares. "I entered three times — each time hoping that I would have the winning entry. I couldn't believe it when they phoned to tell me I had won. Today is a great day for me and my family. This car will make such a difference to our family and to my work at the pre-school."
Richard Matamela, a Bolt and Uber driver from Soweto, shares that this new car will change his life. "Hiring a car of the same size to do my work can cost up to R2 000 per week. Today my life has changed as that money will be redirected to me and my family immediately," Matamela also purchased Iwisa No 1 to secure his winning entry.
Throughout the campaign period, hundreds of daily and weekly prizes are awarded to families across South Africa, providing meaningful financial relief and celebrating the trust consumers placed in the participating brands, says Suzuki.
"Our two Suzuki Swift winners are proof that when we come together as a community of brands, retail partners and consumers, we can create opportunities that truly transform lives. 'More Meals, More to Win' has strengthened the bond between our brands and the South African families we're privileged to serve. We wish them and all our winners every success going forward," concludes Mooko.
