The initiative, created in partnership with South African designer and illustrator Zinhle "Zee Feels" Sithebe, celebrates the deep emotional connection South Africans have with Vicks — a symbol of warmth, healing and family tradition. The limited-edition blanket, designed by Zee Feels, is a vibrant expression of South African identity, featuring cultural motifs such as the protea, springbok, mielie cob and the Vicks shield — all woven together as a visual story of heritage and comfort, says Vicks.

As an extension of this campaign, Vicks has donated 250 blankets (50 each) to:

  • Merchants of Light (Johannesburg South)
  • Smile Foundation (Johannesburg)
  • Pride Shelter Trust (Cape Town)
  • Gift of the Givers (Pietermaritzburg), and
  • CHOC (Durban).

Speaking about the initiative, Tania Da Conceicao, Vicks Senior Brand Manager, says, "Vicks has always been more than a remedy. It's part of our shared heritage. These blankets represent that familiar warmth that connects generations of South Africans. Through this donation, we hope to wrap communities in the same care that has been passed down from one home to another for more than 50 years."

Designer Zinhle "Zee Feels" Sithebe adds, "The Heritage Blanket is a love letter to South Africa. A way to make care visible. To know that it's now bringing comfort to people who need it most makes this collaboration even more meaningful."

The 'Relief Is In Our Roots' campaign invited South Africans to share their own Vicks memories in three words, celebrating the ways the brand has become woven into the fabric of family life. The campaign reached over 32-million people and drew more than 245 000 social media interactions, reaffirming Vicks as a true South African heritage brand, adds Vicks.

With this blanket handover, Vicks continues to live its purpose — to bring relief, care, and comfort where it's needed most, concludes Vicks.
