Cotlands, a leading non-profit organisation in early childhood development, has announced the postponement of its inaugural Run to Play Race scheduled to take place at the Johannesburg Zoo.
The decision follows careful consideration of the upcoming G20 Summit and anticipated road and highway closures, which could make it difficult for participants to reach the race venue, says Cotlands.
A new race date will be announced in due course. In the meantime, Cotlands is inviting supporters to participate in its '#PledgeToRun' campaign, a movement encouraging runners, walkers, families and corporate teams to pledge their commitment to help more children access play-based early learning opportunities, by entering the race early, adds Cotlands.
"This race is more than just a sporting event; it is an opportunity to change and brighten children's lives through our quality play-based early learning programmes," says Nozizwe Dladla-Qwabe, Acting CEO of Cotlands. "Those who '#PledgetoRun' are part of our growing movement, ensuring that more children, regardless of their background, can learn, develop and thrive through play.
