October saw leading clothing; footwear; home ware; and accessories retailer, Edgars, pledge its support to Breast Cancer awareness by launching its’ exclusive Tickled Pink fragrance and accompanying gift set as part of a 100% fundraising drive to benefit the internationally renowned self-help Non-Profit Organisation, Reach For Recovery.

The retail giant introduced the Tickled Pink fragrance, together with a signature Breast Cancer diamante handbag hook and lip-gloss gift set across 145 stores at the start of October, as part of its 2009 campaign to promote awareness of Breast Cancer amongst women across South Africa between 1 October 2009 and 31 March 2010.

Says Edcon Transformation Manager, Xolile Caga, “While Edcon has supported Breast Cancer awareness for the past seven years via a series of sponsorships and events aimed at raising awareness amongst our customers, this year, our launch of the Tickled Pink fragrance and gift set provides our customers with an opportunity to support a worthy cause while increasing awareness of a disease that affects as many as one in 27 women annually. Reach For Recovery is the ideal beneficiary as it provides free, non-medical support to Breast Cancer sufferers through its programme’s that are spread nationally.”

Tickled Pink retails for R79.95 and all proceeds will be awarded to Reach For Recovery at the end of the sales period in April 2010.
