This fund raising event will see the cyclists journey from the North of Botswana, starting in Kasane, to the South of the country in Gabarone. Funds are being raised for two charities namely The King’s Foundation, a registered Christian educational charity that is established to help young people reach their potential and BOSASNet.

Van Rooyen’s participation in the Grand Tour will be for the benefit of youth development organisation, The King’s Foundation.
“triVector, a national provider of BPM and enterprise architecture services, solutions and support has a heart for the youth. Through Mia’s efforts we are able to support an organisation that focuses on youth development by hosting camps, sports, extra-curricular activities and life-skills programmes. This provides a secure, sustainable platform upon which young people can grow and develop their capabilities and skills,” said Dina Jacobs, CEO at triVector.

“All participants are required to raise $750 by the end of August. Mia is currently looking for potential sponsors,” explained Jacobs. “All funds raised will go directly to the charities.”

Van Rooyen said, “I am looking forward to contributing to this important cause, through which I can make a difference in even just one child’s future. It will be a tough ride and the first challenge is to raise enough money to be able to participate. I am passionate about cycling and what a privilege to be able to use my passion to help people in need.”

En route, the Tour Ya Botswana will include viewing experiences of the country’s wild fauna and flora, the Chobe Game Park and the opportunity to meet children from villages.

“It would be an honour for triVector to be part of this charity cycling tour. We congratulate Mia on her determination to take part and we invite you to join us as we support her,” concludes Jacobs.
