Sisters Act at the Soweto Wine Festival
Publicity 44
Distell commissioned Sisters Act to create four eye-catching tasting stands at the seventh Tops Soweto Wine Festival that took place from 1 to 3 September. Visitors were invited to celebrate Spring for three nights of wine, tutored wine classes, delicious food and a new expanded festival at the
University of Johannesburg's Soweto Campus.
A record attendance of over 8000 people tasted 950 wine styles and cultivars, interacted with lifestyle brands in wine lounges and enjoyed meals in the revamped food court showcasing Sowetan restaurants.
Sisters Act were responsible for setting up and branding the stands for Pongracz, Nederburg, The House of J.C. Le Roux and 4th Street. Each stand was designed with the individual brand identity and aesthetic in mind.
The look and feel for the 4th Street stand was urban, modern and full of energy with furniture and flowers in black, white and pink. Visitors were invited to take snapshots in the 4th Street photo booth and view the images on the 4th Street Facebook page.
Pongracz opted for a sleek and sexy look with wooden floors, minimalist white and putty furniture and an eye-catching bar. Guests tasted glasses of chilled MCC and dined on delectable apple tarts. For the Nederburg stand Sisters Act created a bold red and black geometric design with modern bar structures. The House of J.C. Le Roux lounge resembled a luxurious Parisian boudoir complete with platters of
nougat and chilled glasses of sparkling delight.
The Sisters Act team collected and controlled all stock throughout the event ensuring that the stands were well managed and secure. All staff requirements were taken care of by Sisters Act including staff training and placement.
