His extraordinary insight and grasp of matters many mature people don’t grasp prompted the READ organisation to invite him to become a Readathon Ambassador.

The invitation was happily accepted since Readathon’s aims complement Hadebe’s philosophy, part of which is his belief that the greatest accolade man can achieve, is that of making a difference and establishing a legacy of nation building.

Hailing from Vereeniging, Hadebe is a final year student – BComm Economics 7 International Trade. He professes to be highly motivated and inspired by seeing people realise their true and full potential. “My life is centred on people, working with them, experiencing challenges with them and being of service to them.”

In Hadebe’s view, relevance and accountability are South Africa’s major leadership issues. "When our agility and ability to learn is slower than the rate of change, we become irrelevant,” he says. It is up to young people, through collective action, to make South Africa work.
