Chevron joins Good Hope FM for its Toy-Toy Drive campaign
Publicity 13
As part of the 2013 Toy-Toy Drive campaign, Nigel Pierce from Good Hope FM broadcasted live from the head office of Chevron, South Africa’s leading refiner and marketer of Caltex fuels.
Chevron has been part of the Good Hope FM Toy-Toy Drive for the second year running and has been collecting toys over the past two weeks at its head office in Cape Town’s Foreshore, where employees have been donating generously. Chevron matched the number of toys donated by its employees.
Chevron donated the toys collected to the Good Hope Foundation because of the amazing work this foundation does, touching many lives. The foundation has various projects on the go including the Toy-For-Joy Project, which involves distributing toys to hospitals and children's homes. This is where the toys that where collected will go.
Chevron is committed to the upliftment of communities in which it operates in South Africa. Of course children are key in the community and the future of South Africa. Besides the Toy-Toy Drive, Chevron encourages and creates opportunities for its employees to participate in various CSI initiatives, some include; going to Siyazingisa Primary School in Gugulethu to read books to the schoolchildren as well as planting fruit trees and seedlings in their vegetable garden to supplement the school’s feeding programme; and making sandwiches and stationery packs for school children in need for Mandela Day, to name but a few.
The festive season is around the corner and campaigns such as the Toy-Toy Drive enables companies such as Chevron South Africa to put smiles on faces that need them most.
