Premier acquired local bakeries as part of its investment in East London and King Williams Town and has upgraded the process technology at these bakeries to produce a top quality loaf. The bread will be marketed under the Blue Ribbon brand and Premier has gained listings in all major retail chains.
“We are proud to extend our distribution to East London and King Williams Town, off the back of a successful launch in Port Elizabeth in August this year,” said Premier chief executive officer Tjaart Kruger. “The excitement in the business is invigorating as we extend our reach within the Eastern Cape.”
As part of Premier’s strategy of growing within the community, the public has been invited to come and share a Blue Ribbon sandwich with them at consumer taste test activations in East London and King Williams Town - for every taste test sandwich made, a sandwich will be donated to the King Williams Town Child & Youth Care Centre.
Come and sample Blue Ribbon Bread on Friday, 12 September at 27 Brill Street, Arcadia in East London, and on Saturday, 13 September at 11 Hargraves Road in King Williams Town.
“Blue Ribbon bread is baked with care to deliver the fresh taste you’d expect from a quality brand. We are here to stay and build a brand presence within the communities of the Eastern Cape,” said Kruger.
