"Watch us as the LGBT community's story unfolds in the only African country to guarantee freedom of sexual orientation," says Joanne Raphael Katz, spokesperson for PrideTV.

Launched in 2016, PrideTV provides premium subscription and free streaming video content over the web that tells the stories of the LGBT community. PrideTV also offers curated community news with a local African flavour.

"Mainstreaming of gay culture has made tremendous progress in South Africa. The best way to safeguard that progress is regular interaction with diversity that should include the South African LGBT diaspora," adds Katz.

No specialised hardware beyond the viewer's usual Internet access device is required to access PrideTV. PrideTV provides the LGBT community with a growing library of LGBT movies and series currently numbering over 200 titles to start.

The service can be viewed on smart televisions, desktop computers, laptops, tablets, or mobile phones using either iOS or Android operating systems.
